Seeking investment or takeover of fully automated computer controlled mushroom growing and compost unit with Dutch technology set up in 2017, located in village Dharak Kalan, District Mohali, Punjab in an area of 4.5 acres (36 canals).
The farm is set up in the midst of Punjab where agricultural residues for making compost are available in abundance. It is ideally located at around 25 kms from the Chandigarh /Mohali international airport facilitating the export of fresh mushrooms within and outside the country.
There are two composting tunnels with a capacity of 100 tonnes phase II pasteurised compost every 8 days. 1 tunnel for in house consumption and second tunnel for sale of compost. Compost is made with the help of mixing line and it produces 100 metric tonnes phase II compost in one batch. In a month around 800metric tonnes pasteurised compost is made.
Eight computer controlled growing rooms, 800 m2 growing area per room. Each room can accommodate 100 tonnes phase ll compost. Two of these growing rooms were added in 2020-2021. The farm has a production capacity of 60 metric tonnes fresh white button mushrooms per month. In winters the production increases by around 20%. There is a basement of around 40,000 square feet which is used to cultivate different varieties of seasonal mushrooms throughout the year, like white button mushrooms in winter and oyster mushrooms in summer.
The promotor, Mr. Vikas Benal is an authority in the field of mushroom production with 32 years of experience, starting with the setting up of Vikas Mushroom Farm in 1990. He has been covered by national and international media and has received various awards within and outside the country.
